The Meaning of Title of Mr.Olympia
Mr.Olympia-Highest Honor in Professional Bodybuilding. The title of Mr. Olympia is considered the highest honors in the sport of professional bodybuilding. This title is given to the winner of the professional men's bodybuilding portion of Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend. This is an international bodybuilding competition that is held annually by the International Federation of Bodybuilders. This competition was created so that Mr. Universe winners could continue competing and to earn money.
The first Mr. Olympia was held in late 1965 in New York City. Larry Scott won his first of two straight titles. The record number of wins is eight, held by Lee Haney (1984-1991) and Ronnie Coleman (1998-2005).
